Brent District Scouts Census Figures Show Positive Growth in Membership

Brent District Scouts is proud to announce the release of its annual census figures for 2022, taken on January 31st. While the numbers do not yet fully recover to those of 2019, pre-pandemic, the scouts internal membership numbers showed that by the end of March 2022, they had surpassed their 2019 membership level.

The census figures show that the fastest growth in 2022 was in Beaver Scouts. The detailed numbers show that in 2022, the Brent District Scouts had 124 Beaver Scouts, 122 Cub Scouts, 139 Scouts, 33 Explorer Scouts, 6 Network Scouts, and 146 adult members, for a total of 570 members. In comparison, in 2021, there were 61 Beaver Scouts, 102 Cub Scouts, 123 Scouts, 17 Explorer Scouts, 11 Network Scouts, and 131 adult members, for a total of 445 members.

David Kitchen, District Commissioner, said, "We are thrilled to see such positive growth in our membership numbers, particularly in our Beaver Scouts. Our goal is to provide young people with skills for life, and we are proud to be able to offer this opportunity to more young people in our community. We are aware that the numbers of 2019 are pre-pandemic and we are glad to see that we are recovering and surpassing those levels."
