Wellbeing Advisor

The Wellbeing Advisor will work alongside the Assistant District Commissioner: People to ensure the wellbeing of all volunteers is being considered at every level, and through every decision within the district. Ensuring that volunteers are provided with the support they require.

Role description

Purpose: To work with the District Leadership Team to organise and manage the wellbeing of the Districts volunteers.

Responsible to: Volunteering Development Team Leader

Responsible for: Maintaining the wellbeing of the volunteers

Main Contacts: District Lead Volunteer, District Team Leaders, and the District Trustee Board.

Key tasks:

  • Ensure the wellbeing of the volunteers is being maintained and their needs are being met.

  • Regularly communicating with volunteers to discuss the ways the District is supporting their wellbeing and get ideas of things to change to improve it.

  • Attend relevant meetings to discuss the wellbeing of the volunteers and suggest ways of improving it.

  • Managing a network of buddies during the appointment process and supporting leaders in their role.

  • Arranging mental health check-ins and looking after a support network of Mental Health First Aiders.

  • Arranging drop-in sessions as appropriate.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Provide advice and guidance effectively to others.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Build, maintain, and facilitate effective working relationships with a wide range of people.

  • Enable others to identify issues, clarify objectives, develop attainable objectives, and gain the necessary skills and confidence to work as an effective team.

  • Ability to negotiate compromises.

  • Plan, manage and monitor own tasks and time.

  • Be flexible with working hours.

  • Fully IT literate including Microsoft Office, Office 365, WordPress, and social media accounts.
