Trustee Search
Willesden District Scout Council is searching for new external members of its Trustee Executive Committee to be appointed at our AGM on 15th June 2019.
What is the purpose of Scouting?
The purpose is to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.
Scouting in Willesden
Willesden is the fastest growing Scout District in the UK, growing by 45% in 2018. We were featured as part of national news coverage in May 2019
Over the next five years we plan additional growth and development of membership and look for new trustees who can support this.
Reasons to become an Executive Committee member
You will help to support and develop local Scouting, allowing young people in the area to experience fun, friendship and everyday adventure.
You will put your existing skills and experience to good use.
It’s a great way to meet new people.
You will learn new skills that could help build your CV, or just add to your experience or confidence in certain areas.
Your work will make a difference to young people involved in Scouting locally
How much time will I need to give?
Five evening meetings per year, plus annual general meeting. Initial three hour “Essential Information for Executive Committee Members” training held on a weekend.

Executive Committee Member responsibilities
To be a full and active participant in Executive Committee meetings and activities.
To uphold the responsibilities of an Executive Committee as outlined in The Scout Association’s Policy Organisation and Rules.
Willingness and eligibility to act as a Charity Trustee for Willesden District.
Contribute to the strategic aims and future development of Willesden District.
An understanding of their own role, and the role of others on the Executive Committee.
A commitment to understanding and forming opinions on the key discussion points and responsibilities of the Executive Committee.
Willingness to complete various tasks which support the work of the Executive Committee and the aims of Willesden District.
