Media Development Manager

An exciting opportunity to join our Communications Team!

The team’s collectively responsible for promoting our brand values, delivering positive external communications, publicising scouting’s modern, vibrant appeal, ensure that our communities know that scouting exists and how their children can access it.

This area looks after:

  • the way we communicate internally

  • our public identity (our brand)

  • our district website

  • the production of our district magazine

  • the provision of promotional support and resources

  • external relationships

  • promoting scouting across the district to the general public, other organisations and our local community

In your role as Media Development Manager you will:

  • Seek out good news stories and develop content (images, quotes, video, story)

  • Develop contacts and pitch stories to print, online, radio and TV outlets

  • Create a plan and monitor media coverage and reviews output

  • Work joined up with other volunteers and young people to generate and reuse content and share resources
