Young Leader Training - Module A
Details
This module aims to give you the essential information you will need to perform your ESYL role safely. It will provide you with the immediate skills needed to assist another section, and to understand your role. You will also discover how the Scheme works, and find out how to access further training opportunities.
This is the only mandatory module within the Young Leader Scheme and should be completed within 3 months of starting as a Young Leader.
Instructions
Uniform is not required. You may wish to have a way to take notes with you (pen and paper, mobile phone etc). Online courses will, obviously, need some way of accessing the internet (PC or tablet work better than phone!).

Young Leader Training - Module B & C
Module B: Taking the Lead
This module aims to introduce you to the different concepts of leadership. It will teach you how to adapt your style so you can most effectively lead different kinds of activities.
By the end of this module, you will have an understanding of the following:
having the confidence to take on a leadership role within your chosen section
running programme activities that are appropriate for your role
different leadership styles and understanding when each should be used to best effect
how different styles of leadership impact an activity
the need for evaluation, and knowing how to implement the process as necessary
Module C: Thatβs the Way to Do It!
This module aims to give Young Leaders a general understanding of how to demonstrate and teach a variety of skills successfully. It will help make that process fun and ensure that section members enjoy the experience.
By the end of this module, you will have an understanding of the following:
how to talk about how young people learn effectively
demonstrating an ability to pass on skills to younger people
talking about different learning styles
having confidence in using different training techniques
